Wallet drainer checker — scan before you sign

Most drainer losses happen after a valid signature. The checker reads the request first: who spends, what can move, and whether it is unlimited.

What to check in any signature request

Spenderknown router or staking contractcontract deployed days ago
Amountthe exact amount you intendunlimited on a claim page
Tokenthe token you are swappinga token you never held

How to run a check

Open the site as usual. When the wallet shows the request, Nova Shield reads it and displays the spender, the transferable amount and whether the approval is unlimited. If the pattern matches a known drainer, it is flagged before you approve.

After a suspicious signature

Revoke the approval, move remaining assets to a fresh address, and do not reuse the same wallet for claims. A drainer can stay dormant until the next deposit.

Numbers behind the check

In 2025 drainers took $83.85M from 106,106 wallets — an average of $790 each. The pattern is volume: many small approvals. A checker that costs nothing per signature removes most of that volume.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How do I check if a site is a drainer?

Read the signature request: spender, amount and whether the approval is unlimited. Nova Shield does this automatically.

Does checking cost anything?

No. The check is part of the wallet and costs no gas.

Can I check after signing?

Yes, but the approval is already live. Revoke it and move assets if the spender is unknown.

Does it work with any wallet?

Nova Shield is built into Nova Wallet; other wallets show the raw request.
